The alleged sex tape filmed in the Capitol by a Senate staffer this month is not the first time such an incident has been investigated.

A spokesperson for Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., told The National Desk (TND) Thursday a staffer in their office had been investigated for “purported, inappropriate behavior" in June 2022, though “no conclusive evidence” was found.

The staffer left Rep. Newhouse's office shortly after the investigation, the spokesperson told TND.

Despite no significant findings resulting from the investigation, Semafor reports that more than one Capitol sex tape exists. A video featuring a man touching himself in a House office building allegedly circulated on Snapchat last year. The video was allegedly posted by user “Adam J” with the handle “Anjackson2019."

Another video reportedly shows “two men engaged in a sex act in an office setting.” One of the men worked for Rep. Newhouse, Semafor reported.

“As soon as the office was alerted, we immediately contacted the appropriate House entities to conduct an independent investigation,” the Newhouse spokesperson told TND.

Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., fired one of his staffers over the weekend after the staffer allegedly filmed a sex tape in a Senate hearing room. Sen. Cardin added Tuesdaythat he is "angry" and "disappointed," calling the video "a breach of trust."

Aidan Maese-Czeropski, the staffer allegedly featured in the video, has claimed it is being used to frame him in a poor light.

"This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda. While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace," Maese-Czeropski said in a statement after the video began circulating. "Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters."
