AccuWeather settled sexual harassment claim; ex-CEO awaits Trump nomination confirmation
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — They are one of the hottest names in the field of weather. Yet, for employees of the State College based AccuWeather, it's alleged to have been a cold place to work, with accusations of sexual harassment and other misconduct.
The claims are coming to light as the company is paying off a six-figure agreement with the Department of Labor after they were made aware of these allegations.
Clarion River competing for Pa.'s 2019 river of the year
COOKSBURG, Pa. — The Clarion River is one of four waterways in Pennsylvania competing for 2019 river of the year.
Waterways nominated are the Clarion River, Conodoguinet Creek, Delaware River and Lackawanna River.
The Clarion River meanders through narrow valleys and hardwood forests in Clarion, Jefferson, Forest and Elk counties for 110 miles.
When selecting rivers, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources considered each waterway's conservation needs and successes.

St. Marys hosts public hearing on bringing mobile methadone clinic to the area
Elk County, PA (WJAC) — Residents in St. Marys showed up at city hall Wednesday evening for a public hearing where city officials discussed the "possibility" of a mobile methadone treatment facility operating in town.
This was a topic that had a lot of people showing up to show support, and opposition.

With Mother's Day just around the corner, flower shops maybe particularly busy.

6 News visited a Cambria county nursery where we were told they keep their prices fair.

Operation into online child exploitation in Tennessee leads to various arrests
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's ongoing effort to protect kids against online predators has led to the arrests of a dozen people. Over a three-month period, the TBI's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force helped identify and found children who were victims of sexortion and online sexual exploitation as well as identifying and arresting individuals accused of harming children online. "Operation Protecting Tomorrow" identified and found 18 known child victims of sextortion in Tennessee who were reported through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) cybertips from various social media platforms, including Snapchat and Instagram.
Penn Highlands planning to open new campus in Bellefonte
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Another college campus is expected to open this fall in Centre County.
Penn Highlands Community College plans to open a campus in the historic "Match Factory building" in Bellefonte.
Officials say it will be a mix of in-person classes and online degree programs.
A task force of Centre County officials has already been named to help in developing regional programming priorities for the new campus.
Penn State says repaired Nittany Lion Shrine will reopen Saturday

Penn State University has announced that the Nittany Lion Shrine at University Park will reopen on Saturday, May 28th. ORIGINAL:
Officials say crews are continuing to repair the Nittany Lion Shrine, located on Penn State's University Park campus, after it was vandalized earlier this month.
According to the university, vandals broke an ear and splashed red paint on the shrine, in addition to graffitiing Old Main, and the Hintz Family Alumni Center, in red paint.
