Massachusetts man accused of causing disturbance on flight will face judge

BOSTON (WJAR) — The man accused of causing a disturbance on a flight from Los Angeles to Boston will appear in federal court on Thursday. Francisco Severo Torres is set to face a federal judge in Boston. He is currently being held at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls. Federal prosecutors say Torres allegedly tried to open the exit door of the plane and then attempted to stab a flight attendant with a broken spoon during the Sunday flight.

The goal behind this legislation is to strengthen customer protection and decrease the spread of disease -- which can be common in tattoos. “I feel that it's important for consumer safety and protection," said Major. "For the consumer to make sure that their tattoo artist is licensed and trained using sterile and safe procedures.

Police investigating burglary at Richland Twp laundromat
