UPDATE |PennDOT has lifted the temporary speed restrictions that it had issued earlier Tuesday for several area highways.
ORIGINAL | As more winter weather moves through the region Tuesday, PennDOT has issued several speed reductions for multiple area roadways.
PennDOT is also advising motorists to avoid unnecessary travel.
Officials say speeds have been reduced to 45 mph on the following roadways:

Biden releasing 1M barrels of gasoline from Northeast reserve in bid to lower prices
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration said Tuesday that it is releasing 1 million barrels of gasoline from a Northeast reserve established after Superstorm Sandy in a bid to lower prices at the pump this summer.
The sale, from storage sites in Port Reading, New Jersey, and South Portland, Maine, will be allocated in increments of 100,000 barrels at a time. The approach will create a competitive bidding process that ensures gasoline can flow into local retailers ahead of the July 4 holiday and sold at competitive prices, the Energy Department said.

Prosecutors add homicide charge to Johnstown mans charges in fraternity fight
INDIANA -- A man already jailed on charges stemming from a deadly fight with his fraternity brother at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania has now also been charged with criminal homicide.
Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty says he expects to pursue a third-degree murder or manslaughter conviction against 19-year-old Brady DiStefano, of Johnstown. He is a Westmont Hilltop High School graduate.
Indiana borough police had already charged him with aggravated assault and other charges for allegedly beating and choking 20-year-old Caleb Zweig, of Rockville, Maryland, off campus on Feb.
PSP gives update on Mifflintown shootout that left one Trooper dead, another injured
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Pennsylvania State Police have released more details about a deadly shooting that took place Saturday that killed one trooper and injured another.
They say the suspect was also killed.
In a press conference Sunday afternoon, it was announced that the incident began around 11 a.m. in Juniata County at the Lewistown Barracks.
State police said a 2008 Chevrolet pickup registered to Brandon Stine, 38, was observed to be driving through the parking lot of the barracks before getting out of his vehicle and firing several rounds from a long rifle into marked patrol cars before getting back into his vehicle and driving away.
Altoona clinical trials bring hope to patients with osteoarthritis of the knee
Osteoarthritis affects over 32 million people in the Unites States alone. While there currently is no cure, some doctors are researching ways to reverse the damage caused by this disease.
The Altoona Center for Clinical Research is looking for participants suffering with knee pain or knee arthritis to participate in their clinical trials.
According to the CDC, Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. Some people call it degenerative joint disease or “wear and tear” arthritis.
Authorities seeking video surveillance of suspect vehicle in connection to murder of missing MD man
Authorities with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's assistance in finding any video surveillance that may have captured the vehicle of Brandon Holbrook.
Police charged Holbrook on Wednesday in connection to the disappearance of 51-year-old Joseph Anthony Shymanski, of Huntingtown, Maryland.
On Thursday, investigators say detectives discovered human remains near Holbrook's Mifflin County home.
Authorities say the remains have not yet been identified but they are believed to belong to Shymanski.
Johnstown Galleria's revival could feature in retail recovery documentary
The Johnstown Galleria gaining national attention, leading filmmakers to look into documenting how it, and malls alike, are where they are today.
Producers from “It's A Mall World LLC" say they are making a documentary film about how malls are recovering from the so called “retail epidemic.”
They say they are at the Johnstown Galleria “to see if it would be a good fit.”
The malls owner, Leo Karruli, says the hard work by him and mall vendors is paying off.
