PA man receives $34 billion tax bill; IRS investigating

Mount Joy, Pennsylvania — If you think your taxes are high, one Pennsylvania man probably has you beat, as he says his jaw dropped when he got his latest tax bill. Barry Tangert says he was charged more than 34 billion dollars in overdue taxes, penalties, and interest by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. The number is so big that it doesn’t even fit on one line. Barry says this year, his tax preparer noticed a mistake on his 2022 return and sent in an amended return.

JOHNSTOWN -- Today was the final day of the PIAA State Wrestling Championship. One local wrestler took home silver in the AAA tournament. Trey Kibe from Mifflin County won his semifinal bout by a 4-2 decision. Kibe lost on the championship mat by a close 3-2 decision. Developers ready to begin construction on long-awaited Bellefonte Waterfront project

Along the Bellefonte Waterfront District, it has been a long wait, nearly six years, since plans were first announced, in 2018, for a hotel, parking deck and condominiums to be built along Spring Creek. CT students raise money for local 2-year-old girl who is battling cancer

Conemaugh Township students held their 8th annual volleyball marathon on Thursday. Each year, the money raised is given back to the community, either to fire or police departments, or someone in need. This year's theme was "Crusade for Chloe,” a 2-year-old who is battling cancer. On Thursday evening, the school hosted a teachers versus students game, as well as a basket raffle, and a “save it or shave it contest,” with teachers raising money to keep their beards or have them shaved it off.

Late night fire damages garage, home in Hollidaysburg, officials say

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Fire officials in Blair County say multiple crews were called to battle a blaze at a Hollidaysburg residence late Sunday night. Authorities say crews from Geeseytown, Phoenix and Duncansville Fire Departments spent approximately three hours extinguishing the flames at the residence located along Axelle Street. Officials say the fire began in the garage of the home and quickly spread to the attic. Fire authorities say multiple pets were rescued from the blaze and the family was able to escape unharmed.
