Fred Roos, the Oscar-winning producer of “The Godfather Part II” who helped launch the careers of numerous superstars from Jack Nicholson to Tom Cruise, has died. He was 89.
He died at his home in Beverly Hills, California, on Saturday, a representative said Tuesday, just days after his and Francis Ford Coppola’s latest film "Megalopolis" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Judge Daniel Hall on Friday, June 9, issued an order denying again Murdaugh's attorney Jim Griffin's motion to take an additional $160,000 from the remaining balance of Murdaugh's 401(k).

Wind turbine damage from powerful tornado 'unprecedented'
DES MOINES, Iowa (KGAN) — Some of the most viral footage from Tuesday's tornado outbreak, was of several wind turbines in southwest Iowa being toppled by a powerful tornado. The day after, the energy company, MidAmerican, responded to the damage, calling it the worst damage their system has suffered in 20 years of operating wind turbines.
MidAmerican Energy Company services almost two-thirds of Iowa, according to its website.Its territory is wholly encompassed by the territory of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator.
'World Naked Bike Ride' 2022 start point announced
The starting point for this year's "World Naked Bike Ride" event in Oregon has been announced.
The ride will start at Peninsula Park in North Portland on July 30 at 9 p.m. EDT. The Naked Bike Ride is a worldwide bike ride that looks to raise awareness of the vulnerability of cyclists and the dependence on pollution-based transport.

NWS confirms two tornadoes in Cambria Co. during weekend storm
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Cambria County over the weekend as severe weather moved through the area.
According to a public information statement that was updated late Tuesday morning, an EF-1 tornado was reported Saturday night along Snake Road and an EF-0 tornado was reported to have traveled across Gresh Road.
Officials say both tornadoes reportedly touched down sometime between 8:40 p.
Some of 46 dogs rescued from Rhode Island home die, animal organization says
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WJAR) — Several dogs the were recently rescued from a hoarding situation in a Rhode Island home have not survived.
The dogs captured the hearts of people across the state when they were rescued from a Pawtucket house last month. While the majority are now doing well, sadly, some couldn't be saved.
The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) said about seven of the dogs have died across the various shelters helping them recover.

UNDATED (WKRC) - A TikToker claimed an Airbnb host charged her around $924 for using the pool table, the television and other things around the property.
According to The Daily Dot, a video was posted to TikTok on May 8, in which a woman, identified by the outlet as Joanna Anderson, is heard negotiating with her Airbnb host. “So I’m here at this nice Airbnb, but it’s not so nice, because there’s notes everywhere,” Joanna Anderson says in the video, which eventually went viral and has been viewed over 11 million times.
