State funding will help DelGrosso Foods expand operations, double pasta sauce production
TIPTON, Pa. (WJAC) — Gov. Tom Wolf announced Monday that DelGrosso Foods will receive $1.5 million to help expand manufacturing operations in Blair County.
The Pennsylvania-based company, the oldest family-owned pasta sauce producer in the United States, will convert a 166,000 square-foot vacant facility in Antis Township into an expanded pasta sauce manufacturing space which will allow the company to double its production.
“DelGrosso Foods is a nationally recognized food manufacturer known by many Pennsylvanians, whether in the grocery store aisle or at home in our kitchens, and it has supplied consumers across the country with its trusted products for decades,” said Gov.
Conemaugh Township EMS kicks off National EMS Week with education sessions
The Conemaugh Township EMS team hosted experts from the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center to discuss carbon monoxide emergencies and stop the bleed training Monday evening.
Located in Somerset County, Conemaugh Township EMS officials say they held their educational event to kick off national EMS week. Officials say the lecture session aimed to refresh local medical professionals on issues facing their community. It featured two informational sessions led by emergency physicians from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
DuBois Nursing Home reports over 30 positive COVID-19 cases
DuBois, PA — One local nursing home in DuBois is reporting over 30 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
In a letter on the DuBois Continuum of Care's website, as of yesterday the DuBois Nursing Home has four new confirmed resident cases of COVID-19 bringing their total to 22 cases for residents.
The letter also states seven new confirmed staff cases of COVID-19 bringing their staff total to 14.
The DuBois Nursing Home is also reporting two residents and one staff member with new onset of respiratory symptoms within a 72-hour period.
Judge mulls challenge to charge in pregnant woman overdose
BUTLER, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania judge is deliberating over a challenge to a criminal charge brought against a woman who authorities said overdosed while pregnant.
Thirty-year-old Kasey Dischman was charged with aggravated assault on an unborn child. Authorities said her child was delivered by emergency C-section following the June 23 overdose and sustained lasting injuries.
Public defender Joseph Smith argued Tuesday in Butler County that state law bars prosecutors from charging a pregnant woman with aggravated assault of her own unborn child.

TSA prevents man who works at BWI from getting through checkpoint with loaded gun
MARYLAND (WBFF) — Transportation Security Administration officers at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport intercepted a loaded handgun on Sunday, May 26 from a retail shop employee who works at the airport.
The 9mm gun was loaded with eight bullets when TSA officers detected the firearm among the retail worker’s belongings while he was screened at the checkpoint on his way to work, according to a news release. Officials reported airport police were contacted, responded to the checkpoint where they confiscated the firearm, cited the Baltimore man on firearm charges and took possession of the man’s airport identification badge.
'Distressed' aircraft makes emergency 'belly landing' at Johnstown Airport
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials say a “distressed” aircraft had to make an emergency landing Monday afternoon at the Johnstown airport.
First responders were put on standby after officials said the pilot notified air traffic control of a landing gear issue.
Authorities say the rear landing gear would not lock into place.

Huntingdon man confesses to 'having sex with' teen 15-30 times
Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Huntingdon County say a local man is behind bars after he allegedly admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a teenage girl approximately 15 to 30 times.
Troopers say they first began investigating 32-year-old Mark Musser last October after receiving multiple complaints of an ongoing "mutual sexual relationship" between him and a 13-year-old girl.
Police say the victim told troopers that she first met Musser in 2018, or 2019, while working on his family's farm.
