NYC man killed in tubing accident on Delaware River, authorities say
BUSHKILL, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a New York City man died after falling off a tube he was using to float down the Delaware River in northeastern Pennsylvania over the weekend. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area said Sunday that the 51-year-old man, who was not wearing a life jacket, was with a group of people floating on tubes in the river, in Pike County, but became separated from them, fell into the water and went under.
Rue21 closing all stores nationwide after bankruptcy filing
Rue21 is closing its doors for the last time after filing for bankruptcy, according to Reuters.
This isn't the first time the apparel company has filed for bankruptcy; the business also filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and 2017.
Now, after decades of business, the company is $194.4 million in debt, Reuters reports, and its 4,900 employees will be out of jobs.
All the stores in the country will be closing. Reuters reports that 540 stores are currently in operation.
Separate Capitol sex tape incident investigated in 2022
WASHINGTON (TND) — The alleged sex tape filmed in the Capitol by a Senate staffer this month is not the first time such an incident has been investigated.
A spokesperson for Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., told The National Desk (TND) Thursday a staffer in their office had been investigated for “purported, inappropriate behavior" in June 2022, though “no conclusive evidence” was found. The staffer left Rep. Newhouse's office shortly after the investigation, the spokesperson told TND.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — Hot cars can become deadly for children in a matter of minutes, according to recent studies. It almost happened to a 3-year-old girl in West Palm Beach over the weekend.
Raul Rielo-Fernandez, 42, was arrested and accused of leaving his daughter in the backseat of his parked SUV without the engine running to go shopping. It was a scorching hot day, police said.
The incident occurred in the Sam’s Club parking lot, located off 45th Street in West Palm Beach Saturday afternoon.

(TCS) — Georgia tax officials collected more than $3.9 billion in April, a decrease of 5.4% or $225.7 million from last year.
So far this fiscal year, net tax revenue of more than $27.4 billion is down about 1.2% or $341.3 million from last year. While fiscal 2024 collections have decreased from fiscal 2023 and fiscal 2022 numbers, they remain higher than they were at the same time in fiscal 2019, fiscal 2020 and fiscal 2021, according to unaudited numbers released at the time.
One person flown to hospital following motorcycle crash near Elk Co. hotel
Elk County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities say one person was flown to the hospital Monday afternoon following a motorcycle crash near the Medix Hotel in Elk County.
911 officials say the crash, which occurred just before 2 p.m., resulted in the temporary closure of Quehanna Highway, between Route 255 and Silver Mill Road, in Medix Run.
State police officials confirmed that the operator of the motorcycle suffered moderate injuries in the crash.
Police trying to figure out from where nearly $40K in cash found in Ohio restrooms came
MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WSYX) — A money mystery in Marysville has police trying to figure out from where nearly $40,000 came.
More than $25,000 was found in the restroom at the Avalon Theatre on April 27, and then, Thursday night, more than $12,000 was found in the restroom at a KFC restaurant.
Investigators said they're pretty sure the discoveries are related, but still don't know how.

$5K reward offered for any info in Bellwood cold case from 1977
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for any new information on the homicide investigation of 16-year-old Nicholas Grassmyer, of Bellwood.
Authorities say Grassmyer was a junior at Bellwood-Antis High School, where he played football.
On Sept. 9, 1977, investigators Grassmyer played in his school's football game against Tyrone before going to visit his girlfriend.
Police say just after midnight, Grassmyer reportedly called his parents to tell them that he was having car trouble and that he was going to walk home.
