Transportation services at Blair Senior Services not affected by fire

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — A fire at the Blair Senior Services’ storage facility damaged multiple vehicles over the weekend, but it has not stopped the company’s daily transportation services. Investigators say the fire broke out early Sunday morning in the back of the transportation center where twelve vehicles were parked. The president of Blair Senior Services, Steve Williamson, says the fire damaged ten vans and totaled six of them.

Corgis walk, run, and waddle at annual Corgi Beach Takeover day

SEASIDE, Ore. (KATU) — Hundreds of Corgis stormed the Oregon coast for their annual Corgi Beach Takeover on Saturday. The short-legged furry friends gathered at Seaside, Ore., in an event sponsored by the Oregon Humane Society. It was impossible to walk along the beach without seeing one of the cute dogs run by. Corgis and their owners participated in costume contests, raffles, and Corgi races. Corgi owners tell KATU News it was a quiet car ride home after how hard these pups played today.

Noon kickoff set for Pitt-Penn State football game

Police investigating after man suffers fatal fall from State College parking garage

State College, PA (WJAC) — State College Police are investigating after authorities say a 31-year-old man fell to his death early Monday morning. Police say just before 7 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area near the Beaver Ave. parking garage for a report an unresponsive male. Upon further investigation, authorities determined that the man reportedly fell from the garage and suffered fatal injuries. Police and the Centre County Coroner's Office say investigators are awaiting toxicology results but no foul play is suspected.

South Fork man charged in 'gruesome' homicide appears in court; no trial date set yet

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Cambria County man charged in the "violent" slaying of a missing Altoona man last spring appeared in court Monday morning. Austin Kline was charged with homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of Richard Morgan. Investigators say Morgan was found "shot and bludgeoned" at Kline’s home in South Fork in May of last year. Police say Kline reportedly hired Morgan to help him with some work and later confessed to killing him.

Two dead following murder-suicide

CLEARFIELD - Two people were found dead following a domestic dispute in Bradford Township Friday evening. Police said they responded around 7 p.m. to a residence on Hillbilly Lane and found both Donald Peters, 46, of Mineral Springs and Tammy Sipe, 43, of Hyde, dead from stab wounds. According to a witness, police said Peters had a large knife and stabbed Sipe in the front yard of the home before the dispute moved to inside the home.

Man who took selfie after fatally shooting friend convicted

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania man who authorities say shot a friend and then posed for a selfie with the dying teen has been convicted of a less serious charge. Maxwell Morton was convicted Thursday of third-degree murder in the shooting of 16-year-old Ryan Mangan in February 2015. The jury rejected prosecutors' arguments that Morton intentionally killed Mangan. Morton testified Thursday that the teens were playing with a handgun and he thought it was unloaded when he pointed at him and pulled the trigger.
