Huntingdon Co. man seriously injured after tractor-trailer strikes bear

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in DuBois say a Huntingdon County man was seriously injured on Friday when his tractor-trailer collided with a bear along Route 153 in Clearfield County. Troopers say the crash occurred just after 4 a.m. Friday in Huston Township. Investigators say after the truck struck the bear, it overturned, trapping the driver inside. Police say the driver, a 56-year-old Entriken man, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Penn Highlands DuBois with suspected serious injuries.

PSP IDs victim of fatal crash in Barr Township

UPDATE | Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — State police have identified the victim of Monday's fatal crash in Barr Township. Investigators say 48-year-old Shawn Weiland, of Clymer, was killed when his SUV traveled off of Route 553, down an embankment and struck several trees. Authorities say the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. and closed the roadway for an extended period of time. Police say Weiland was pronounced dead at the scene.
