Attention sweet tooths and snack lovers!
Two new desserts are available -- and both involve the merger of a few tasty treats from two well-known brands.
Jell-O announced the company's first flavor collaboration in more than a decade, as it recently joined forces with Girl Scouts to create Girl Scout Pudding Cups. Two flavors, which were inspired by the popular Girl Scout cookies, are being offered: Thin Mints and Coconut Caramel.
The Jell-O Girl Scout Pudding Cups introduce a brand-new format for Jell-O, featuring smooth pudding with a mixable cookie crumble topping," a spokesperson for Jell-O said Tuesday in an email. "This first-ever offering gives consumers the perfect blend of creamy pudding and delicious Thin Mints and Coconut Caramel cookie crumbles in every spoonful."While the pudding is packaged in one container, the crumbles are offered in a separate container.
The spokesperson said the refrigerated desserts in "classic flavors" are packaged in "a convenient, on-the-go format." They come in packs of two and are sold at retailers across the county for $2.99.
It’s also a great tribute to the Girl Scout Cookie Program which has helped millions of girls learn new skills, including entrepreneurship, financial literacy and more," the spokesperson noted. You can also indulge in the snack with also supporting your local Girl Scout troops.
Girl Scout cookies are sold by scouts each year. According to its website, "net proceeds from Girl Scout Cookie sales stay local with the originating council and troop to fund activities for girls year-round as well as impactful girl-led community projects. Each council determines its own revenue structure depending on how much it costs the council to buy cookies, the local retail price to sell cookies, and the amount of revenue shared with participating troops."
The website noted the cookie program revenue "is a critical source of funding for Girl Scout councils to deliver essential programming to troops and is often what makes it possible to reach girls in underserved areas and maintain camps and properties."
