Today was the first Johnstown Farmer's Market of the year, where people could buy fresh produce, baked goods, flowers and more.

These vendors will gather along Central Park until the end of October, every Friday from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Yvonne Gahagan has been selling her flower bouquets from Gahagan Family Farms at the market for about 17 years.

"It's amazing. People will stop me in different places and they'll tell me that they know me from the market, or they've seen me at the market, and they love our flowers, and so on," Gahagan said.

John Zerby, the Johnstown Farmer's Market Organizer, says that employees from surrounding businesses tend to make a stop on their lunch breaks.

The market had a late start this year because of COVID-19, but that didn't stop them from putting this tradition on.

"We are asking everybody to respect social distancing and to wear a mask. My vendors have been told to wear masks and check their temperatures," Zerby said.
