CLEARFIELD - A back and forth dispute in Clearfield County saw another jab thrown Friday.
Clearfield County Clerk of Court Brian Spencer responded to Warden Greg Collins letter where Collins said that Spencer has not contacted him in a professional manner to address concerns with the handling of court documents relating to the transfer of inmates and other court related matters.
Spencer responded by saying that his deputy prothonotary did try to contact Collins by phone and left a message to discuss the concerns. Spencer said phone call has never been returned.
He also criticized the warden by saying is actions "seem contradictory" as in the warden's own letter he said he would not engage in a public discussion over that matter, yet Spencer said that was hypocritical as Collins sent his letter to the media.
Spencer added that he has yet been notified of specific cases where inmates were unable to transfer due to orders not being processed timely.
"I remain committed to providing the best service for the citizens of Clearfield County and am open to working with you to resolve these issues that may be affecting your department," concluded Spencer.
